There have been many college basketball players that have broken their leg while playing the game. of Kansas University who suffered a broken leg while playing against Texas in February 2019.
The severity of injuries in college basketball has become more pronounced in recent years, with fractured legs becoming increasingly common, along with torn ACLs, Achilles tendon, and other torn ligaments.
While many of these injuries occur from contact with another player, some are caused by a player colliding with the court, usually from a jump shot. In some cases, the injury may even be caused by a misstep or just a bad landing.
Regardless, broken legs in college basketball have become quite common, a trend that can be attributed to the bulky, hypermasculinebuilt bodies and physical play that has become the norm in the modern game.
While a broken leg is never ideal, most athletes are able to make a full recovery and go on to play again at some point.
