What happened to Charmin Basic toilet paper?

Charmin Basic toilet paper was a low-cost toilet paper option from Procter & Gamble that was geared towards being a more affordable alternative for consumers. It was first released in 2002 but was discontinued in 2011, leaving Ultra Strong and Ultra Soft as the two available options for Charmin toilet paper.

The discontinuation of Charmin Basic was due to the increasing costs of the materials that went into making the toilet paper, making it more expensive for the company to produce. Additionally, customers began to prefer the Ultra Soft standard, leading to increased sales of that product.

Procter & Gamble also noted that there were very few complaints about the discontinued product, likely because of its low-cost nature.

Though Charmin Basic is no longer available, consumers can still find a low-cost alternative in the form of the “Simply” line of Charmin products. The “Simply” products give customers the same quality they expect from Charmin, while still providing a more budget-friendly solution.

Which toilet paper is best?

The best toilet paper for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences. For most people, softness and durability are the two main factors to consider when choosing a toilet paper. For instance, some people may prefer toilet paper that is softer, while others may prefer paper that is more absorbent and durable.

When it comes to softness, the thickness of the paper will play a role in how soft the paper is. Thinner toilet paper rolls are typically softer than thicker rolls, but can be more prone to breakage.

On the other hand, thicker rolls are often more durable, but may not be as soft as the thinner rolls.

Another factor to consider is the material used for the paper. Some toilet paper is made from recycled paper, which is often more affordable than paper made from fresh pulp. Recycled paper is also typically less soft than paper made from fresh pulp and can be more abrasive on sensitive skin.

You may also want to consider the amount of toilet paper you use and how quickly you run out. Bulkier rolls are generally more economical in the long run and reduce the amount of time you spend changing out rolls.

On the other hand, thinner rolls may be more convenient but may last fewer uses.

When choosing the best toilet paper, consider your own needs and preferences, and make sure to buy a product that meets those criteria.

Which Charmin is softer?

When it comes to which Charmin toilet paper is softer, that all depends on personal preference. Charmin Ultra Soft is known for being incredibly soft, with a cushiony texture that provides extra comfort.

For those who prefer a plusher feel, Charmin Ultra Strong is gentle on sensitive skin, but also provides a different kind of strength. Those looking for the ultimate indulgence may prefer Charmin Ultra Mega Roll, which has 4x the number of sheets for extra softness and fewer roll changes.

Ultimately, everyone has their own unique preferences and tastes when it comes to toilet paper, so it’s a matter of deciding what works best for you.

Why are the Charmin Bears 3 different colors?

The Charmin Bears are three different colors to represent the three types of Charmin toilet paper products. The blue bear represents Charmin Ultra Soft, the pink bear represents Charmin Ultra Strong, and the white bear represents Charmin Basic.

Each color was carefully chosen to reflect the product’s characteristics. The blue color of the Ultra Soft bear reflects the softness of the toilet paper, while the pink color of the Ultra Strong bear reflects the strength.

What toilet paper do plumbers recommend?

Plumbers typically recommend using thicker, more durable toilet paper over thinner, lower-grade paper. Thicker toilet paper is less likely to clog toilets and drain pipes, making it a much better choice for a household.

Additionally, higher-grade paper is much more comfortable and luxurious for people to use, which is an added bonus. In general, plumbers recommend that homeowners look for toilet paper with a minimum of two-ply thickness and high absorbency.

Many plumbers also suggest that homeowners look for toilet paper that is septic-safe, so it dissolves quickly and effectively without creating buildup in the toilet and drain. Another great product to look into is toilet paper with added aloe, which can help soothe skin while being tough enough to break down easily.

Ultimately, the most important factor to consider is choosing a durable toilet paper that is high quality and won’t clog pipes or cause plumbing issues.

Did Charmin toilet paper get thinner?

No, Charmin toilet paper has not gotten thinner since its introduction in 1928. In fact, over time it has gotten thicker and more absorbent. In the 1990s, the company launched the Charmin Ultra Soft line, which was even thicker than the original Charmin product.

Why is the Charmin Bear Brown now?

The Charmin Bear, which has been a beloved advertising mascot for the toilet paper brand Charmin since 2000, was originally white. However, in 2018 Charmin decided to recast the character and turn it into a brown bear.

The reasoning for this was to make the bear more representative of a global audience, similar to how the brand had redesigned their packaging to look more “universal. ” A representative for Charmin stated, “As a global brand, we felt it was important to make the Charmin Bear universally recognizable.

“.

The new bear was designed to be huggable and relatable, with a modern look, giving the brand a more contemporary image. Additionally, the bear was given a personality, endearing it to its many fans, and is incredibly popular among children.

All-in-all, turning the original white Charmin Bear into a brown bear was meant to make it more globally relate-able to all audiences and create a sense of unity through the use of a universal and recognizable mascot.

What toilet paper is for not clogging?

When it comes to toilet paper that won’t clog, look for a high-quality product that is both fluorescent and septic safe. Fluorescent paper will break down in water more quickly, which helps reduce the chances of a clog.

There are also septic-safe options that are specifically designed for septic tanks, which have their own unique set of requirements for breaking down quickly and thoroughly. When selecting a toilet paper for not clogging, make sure to read the label for any indication that it is septic-safe or fluorescent.

Other things to look for in a quality toilet paper are a 2-ply thickness, which is more absorbent and helps create further breakdown in the water; and quilted patterns that help the tissue dissolve better.
